

Stuart Houghton
Stu is our club's head coach and is responsible for leading coaching sessions and driving performance across our Men's section and also in the U11's. Since joining Thornbury in 2020, he has been a great asset for the club and we hope that Stu has a long and successful coaching career with Thornbury.
Stuart Houghton Coaching Bio:
Stuart began his playing career in Cambridgeshire and represented Cambridgeshire, the Army and Combined Services as a wicket-keeper-batsman. During this time he played all over the world including tours to the West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka.
Stu became Head Coach of the Army after being lead coach of the Army Development squad, during which time he qualified as an ECB L3 Performance Coach and ECB Coach Developer. On retirement from the Army in 2019, Stuart began working for the Gloucestershire Cricket board as a school's coach as well as leading the Gloucestershire U14's Development team.
From 2021 Stuart has become the GCCC U11s Lead Performance Coach and works with the Academy and EPP squads. He also works with the Worcestershire EPP specialising in Batting, Fielding and Wicket keeping. He is currently on the Cohort 20 of the ECB L4 Specialist Course. He is Head of Cricket Development at Beaudesert Park School. In 2021 Stuart became Thornbury’s Head Coach and currently runs both Senior and U11s training.
