Men's and Women's players of the month: July

All winners to receive £15 bar credit!

1st Team: Chris Matthews

Chris had a stellar July with the bat, scoring 150 runs at 50, and crucially marshalled the side home in two successful run chases. He made 23* to complete the win against Lansdown, and then followed this with 56* at Bedminster, including 14 off the final over.

Chris has been great this season, having joined TCC over the winter, and his adaptability and ability to score runs in all kind of situations has seen him become a key player for the 1st team.

2nd Team: Josh Slade

Sladey racked up the runs in July, amassing 276 at a mighty 92 average. The highlight was 104* to set up a crucial win at home to Chipping Campden, the first player to score a ton in the 2's all summer. Equally important was his 48 on a shockingly poor pitch at Poulton to set up another win there, taking the team to a competitive total.

Let's hope the runs continue into August!

3rd Team: Sai Kenche

Sai only played two games for the 3's in July, but such was his impact on them that he was a worthy winner of this award. Against Coalpit Heath, he racked up his first adult 100, batting through the entire innings for 144* to set up a victory. The following week he scored 50 and took 3-30 to help defeat the unbeaten table toppers Golden Hill.

Quite an impact from the talented youngster, and I'm sure the first of many adult 100's for TCC!

4th Team: Eddie Slade

Eddie was on the winning side in all the games he played in July, scoring 107 runs and being dismissed only once, and taking 3 wickets at an average of 15. The highlight has to be 71* from just 48 balls at home to Coalpit Heath, taking Thornbury from what looked like a par score around 220 right up to 270 to put the game out of sight.

Eddie is the top run scorer in the 4th team this year, and we hope will keep kicking on as the season continues.

Women's

League 1 Softball: Anneka Hawkins.

As well as her consistent top scoring batting & bowling along with her committed fielding, Annekas support & encouragement of the whole team in every game make her a very deserved winner. Very well played Anneka!

League 2 Softball: Rekha Sanat It is with great pleasure that we nominate this team member for her overall contribution to scoring not just to support with League 2 games but to also support League 1 and the hardball games, whilst also playing in League 1 and taking some great wickets this season! Well done Rekha and thank you. Women's Hardball XI: Hayley Lewis Hayley has shown over the last month her enthusiasm for hardball cricket. Her initial nerves have disappeared and she now steps confidently up to the crease with the bat and has sharpened her skills behind the stumps. Well done Hayley!
